I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong or how to fix it.. I can't install SL to save my life. It downloads, I hit install, it tries to install it then it says "this file cannot be installed because the installer is corrupted or contains a virus and to contact the author for a new copy"....... I don't understand why it is doing this.. any ideas or suggestions on what to do from here? I have tried to install several times, all with the same error message.... Please help  |

clear temproary internet files (from the extra->settings(if recalling right in english win)
also empty: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
download the installer again afterwards (should be a normal speed download again)

Have you tried to redownload and then install? What anti virus program are you using? You could try totally disconnecting from the internet, turn off your virus scanner, and then try to install. If you go that route, don't forget to turn the AV back on before connecting to the internet!

yep, I have tried clearing cache and internet files, redownload it and still same error message telling me its corrupt and to get a new copy from the author  I don't know what is happening |

Yes its a brand new hard drive that I had to install because of a windows error that messed up my last hard drive. This is my first time on the internet with the new hard drive. I suppose maybe I don't have current windows updates or something? I am not able to download any right now from Windows as there was an error message on their page as well.... Guess I will just wait and see what happens.
