why dont the bot operators set their bots to resell land they buy for L$1 per sq meter or under to sell as a first land type of deal for say 2L$ per meter and only allow members under 30 days old on the land.

This way the bot owners can actually do good other than stuffing thier own fat gorging greedy pockets full of cash that they are taking away from real Land agents out ther that are no longer able to make money because of the bots.

In other words bot operators, why dont you really give back to the community instead of raping it. you afraid of a little respect?

Why dont the bot owners design their bots not to buy parcels for 0 or 1 lindens?

If only one bot owner does that 10% of the time, a lot of people could get helped. Heck, they could even make $511 on each act of kindness and set the land for the old first land price of $512.

Great idea until the good-hearted bot owner gets the land yanked out from under him by some other scumbag (with a bot less than 30 days old), and the price jacked up to the usual levels.

It would be satisfyingly ironic if it weren't happening to the bot owner who's finally trying to do some good.

I think I saw this on an episode of 'CARE BEARS' one time. Then again, I was most likely stoned at the time so dont have a clue.

Wonderful idea, Jackson. You sound liike the barber in Charlie Chaplin's film, The Great Dictator. But sadly given the harsh, brutal realities of SL, it would never fly. One person's ethics is merely another person's opportunity to exploit :(

I will say ONE good thing about bots: if suddenly your little piece of land has become neighbor to strip joints and casinos, the bots don't care and will buy it at your listed price... they can't judge "perceived value", which might be nice. Just a thought.

A warm, fuzzy feeling inside and some extra tier cost from holding the land till they verify the buyer.

Perhaps they'll buy us all ice cream while they're at it :p

I used to have a little mainland sandbox plot. As far as mainland sims go, it was nice and things kept on improving for a few months until everyone packed up and left.

The end result was a strip-club/mall on one side of my sandbox plot and a casino on the other. The sim to the south had a newbie hangout and was at 40 all day long while the sim to the west had another casino on it as well. For most of the day main agents was at 20-30, with child agents at 20-40, or just too laggy to do anything.

I ended up contacting both the mall and the casino, asking if they were looking for any additional prims/space and ended up selling it to the casino for close to twice the market rate.

It's always possible that someone else on the sim is wanting more prims, and they'll give you a much better deal than any landbot because the market rate means nothing in that case.

Good thinking, Kitty. Enough people think that way, we may end up with de facto zoning after all - feed the lagmongers to stay where they are and go where they aren't.

I think Residents can often find they have more options than people think, and can solve more than a few problems themselves with a little ingenuity.

Good on you, Kitty.

This would be amusing. Crap up a sim so bad that nobody would ever in their right mind would buy land in it, and trick a bot into buying... have fun eating the tier. :D
