How do I grant limited land mgmt permissions to tenants?

I've read Help and looked/searched in all the forums, but I'm still missing something.

What I want to do is granted limited rights to a tenant on a parcel of land (e.g. set home to here, manage ban list, edit media, use a locking door that I own).

I set up a group, created a role with the relevant permissions, and the tenant has now joined the group. In the About Land window I set the land to the group (but did not deed the land to the group). At this point, however, the tenant cannot do any of the things I would like her to be able to do.

Must I deed the land to the group to make this work? If so, won't that be a concern when it comes time to sell the land?

Thanks for your help!

you do indeed have to deed the land to group for them to have the relavant permissions

you can keep group owner access to yourself and only allow you to sell the land, tehn when time comes to sell, sell to yourself for 1L and deal with it from there.
