At https://secondlife.com/vote/ residents can vote on proposals made by other residents. The voting procedure confuses me as there is no YES or NO selection, only a dropdown with amount of votes to allocate. The instructions don't mention anything about voting YES or NO on an issue. Could someone please explain how this works? thanks

Hi Rat, You can't vote YES or NO - the voting is only to decide which proposals should be considered by LL first. You have 10 "points" to allocate between proposals; the proposals with the highest total score get priority, and I think there's a minimum score to be considered at all. Note that they only get considered, not necessarily implemented.

Thanks Yumi.
That makes sense but I still have some holes in my head.
So in other words, if you see something you would really like to be implemented, you could cast all your votes to move it up the list of eligable proposals. Alternatively, if you don't like the proposal the only thing to be done is to ignore it?
Lastly, what would be the difference between 'no placed' and 'no'?

That's right. I believe one of the proposals listed currently is to enable voting "no". From: someone Lastly, what would be the difference between 'no placed' and 'no'? Voting "no" isn't supported at the moment, but I think the intended effect is that "no" votes would reduce the score for a proposal, instead of leaving it unchanged (as is the case if you just don't place any)

At the moment, they are largely ignoring the Feature Voting Tool, while trying to come up with a more useful system. They haven't acknowledged any proposals in months, even when they crossed the 500 vote threshold and it was brought to a Linden's attention.
In short, you can vote, but no one at LL is listening.
