Does it crash right after it's done Loading Clothing??
Only thing I can think of that might work for something like that would be to do a disk defrag, then (I only know PCs, not MAC) click on the "Start" button in the menubar. You will se an option named "Run" double-click that. In the input field type in : chkdsk and hit "Enter". It should run by itself & fix the problem. Don't forget to re-boot the computer before you log-in again. (from my experience) _____________________

Thanks Xio for the tip. But SL doesn't crash, I get a proper error message, asking me to check the status web page. (ooops - now it worked!)

hehe xio I dont think that your method fixes crashes what it does do is work like the "did you clear your cache" remedy in that it takes time to do it and possibly restart your computer and by then the load on SL has decreased and you can get in without crashing
It sounds wierd but I think a lot of the client crashes are due to high numbers on the servers I dont know because I have changed nothing and gone back to my login during the wee hours of the morning routine because I have time to do this now again and find I dont crash. I do crash when there are very high numbers online everything is boggy around me and takes forever to load. At 2 a.m. my time I can go to all the same places and do everything with zero problems and remain that way for hours. If i can stay awake long enough as I did last night due to having time off finally again it became bad again by about 8 a.m. my time. I looked and concurency numbers were climbing. In any event I found the "Cure" for my horrible repeated crashing problem which is to not use SL when concurency is over about 25k -30k people when it starts getting close to 40K then it becomes a nightmare and I would get further doing something else other then spending half an hour trying to upload 1 texture and apply it to a prim box without crashing. |

everything works great for me
i stay logged in for about 5 hours + each day playing with no crashes and lag is no where to be seen i think 99% of people who have 'prblnms' the problem is on the client side (malconfigued hardware) cuz this stuff works perfect for me _____________________

No client side problems. I was able to work without any problems during the day (european time). Now texture uploads are failing, after a failed upload the menu doesn't react anymore, I have to relog, login takes ages and sometimes fails too, then I freeze on the spot as soon as I'm logged in, teleporting is impossible... geez.
What did LL mess up now? Can't they stop updating for a few months, to give us some time to work before something else is broken? |

including your nickname? it definitely weeds out alot of 'prejudging assumption making' type of people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poop_deck http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppis _____________________
