if you have a store in sl is the only place you can advertise 'the classifieds' or are there other places, as under search there are a few tabs eg, classifieds, places, popular places etc, all help much apreciated.....

If your store is a destination then you can list it under Places as well, but I don't know how much difference that makes and anyway is really annoying if you are just listing a tiny shop in a mall. Other places where you can advertise include SL blogs and newspapers. Also, make sure to put an slurl to your store when listing your items on slx, as that is a major vector of advertising your store and not just a point of sale.

The "Places" section allows land owners to advertise their place. The ranking is sorted by traffic numbers, and those ads won't show in the classifieds (where in my opinion everyone searching for wares looks first). "Places" ads only cost L$30 weekly. Classifieds start at L$50 weekly; basically you'd need to pay as much as needed to get your shop a good ranking for the appropriate search keywords. Classifieds can lead to any location, including land that you don't own (like rented shop space).
Btw, you can also advertise wares in some forum sections. But I'd recommend to place an ad inworld in addition. It really helps the sales. /Edit SL-Url: just add your sim name and the coordinates to the url http://slurl.com/secondlife/, for example http://slurl.com/secondlife/Topgol/250/20/56/ (Topgol being the sim name which you need to replace with your home sim). |

Here's where to make an slurl:
http://slurl.com/build.php You can put links in the item description. Note that slx uses bbcode to make the link, whereas on slb you use html. _____________________
