I am getting a "Login Failed. The system is logging you out right now. Your account will not be available till ....."
This is a continuous error as the time mentioned keeps postponing, and I am unable to login since last night.
The 15 minute wait and login mentioned in the KB doesn't work. Neither does any of the other articles.
Pls help. My account is active, I have not received any abuse messages, something is wrong.
Regards Louie

It seems you're ghosted, which is probably due to a sim failure. Where were you when you logged out or crashed?

Okay, I just checked, according to the system you're currently online. I'll have a look at the sim.

The only guaranteed ways of getting unstuck is for the landowner to tp you home through llTeleportAgentHome, or for the sim owner to do the same (or hope that the sim crashes sometime soon).
File a support ticket and if you get unstuck before they get to it, you can always just append it to indicate that it's no longer a problem.

There have been some big SIM hicups in the past 48 hours around SL. Mainland even. SIMs are just freezing and its taking the Lindens a long time to see it and then restart it. I had something like this jsut happen to me at my store about 24 hours ago.

One way that seems to always work for me is ask someone you know in RL to send you an IM in SL - each time i've had the same login problem, this seems to clear it straight away and I can them log in. *EDIT* Just sent you an IM in world to see if it helps you Gomez

One of this things I tried was to reboot my router and modem and it fixed it for me. *mutters* I had a feeling at the time though that the router or the modem just wasn't letting go of the connection to the sim and it was affecting BOTH my husband's account and mine on separate computers in the same network.

if you have an alt using the same pay information sometimes that will trigger them offline..i have this happen all the time though..
my actual main has not logged out in over three weeks..when i say that i mean at the logout screen it closes halfway on logout..my recent items were getting bigger that my actuall inventory lol..but thats a different glitch than yours..
another thing you can do that may get your avatar off the grid is to try and log to different islands on log in..try entering different sim names and see if this gets yours unghosted..i know back when this glitch first happend a few months back where everyone was getting ghosted ,someone had came on with certain sim names we could log to and it worked..
At the start up screen go to prefrences then the General tab..now up at the top you will see a box .it says "Show start location on login screen* now when you start up SL you will see a dropdown menu.just type in different sim names you know that are islands not mainland but islands and you should find one that will let you unghost and transfer to one of them..
it has worked for me in the past..i hope this helps

Ticket has been on "work in progress" for hours now, how long does it normally take for them? Come, visit my ghost and offer a card, I'll check once I'm back. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Blair/250/211/123

I assume he got an email asking him to confirm he requested a password change, and clicked that?
Did he try resetting the password a second time? Does one normally need to contact by phone to reset a password?

Yes, he received the mail after clicking "forgot password"
The mail contained a link which takes you to reset the pass, he typed in incorrect info for the secret question a few times.
Now its kinda permnently disabled I think, it doesnt work anymore.
On a related note,
BTW, FINALLY, ONE OF THE LINDENS RESTARTED 2 REGIONS and THE AV GOT KILLED!!

There's a message at the bottom of the main Support Portal page which says: From: someone Need to call us? If you have an issue with your account (non-technical, billing/password/etc), you can call our Billing team at: toll-free (US/Canada) 800-294-1067 or long-distance (not free) 703-286-6277. They're available 9AM - 6PM PST, Monday - Friday Since it specifically mentions passwords, I think calling should be his next course of action.

Same problem here
07-24-2007 14:47
I got the sorta the same problem though I'd like to describe it anyway... opening up SL n' try to connect.... waiting... ......login failed...... I try again same thing happens, this happens a couple of time, n' I try to find a solution online here. I try to change my login location from last place to home, yet it doesn't helps.... then I try to connect an online help area, but when I did the message were different, "There is something wrong with SL at the moment try go to www.secondlife.com/status to check sl connection" but nothing seems to be wrong there... then I try with the help island again and it says: "Unable to connectio to SL. DNS could not resolve the host name. Please verify that you can connect to the www.secondlife.com web site. If you can, but continue to receive this error, please go to the support section and report this problem." My last location I cannot remember by name since I were just looking around, but I do know how to find the place again... Search for place "Star Wars" and find a place called "Malacor V" if it's spelled right. How did I get stuck? I accidentally teleported away from Malacor and cancelled my teleportation and it forced me to quit the game instead.
