Im and Teleport Problems

Hi I am having problems with my Friends List, My IM abilities and my Teleport functions. For some reason - in the past 3 days - I have been unable to IM many of my friends (No they are not just ignoring me!) and I cannot seem to get my TP offer to them. I have reported it to Help line but since my IM messages don't seem to be getting out, they probably haven't received my message. Have I been attacked by a worm??
Also my flying abilites have also been seriously hampered.
One person said I should dump my cache but that sounds too drastic for me.
Is there a way I can solve this for myself?
I have always found Reader Comments useful in getting the best help out there. I have to work in Real now but will check back later. Please help - my SL friends think I am ignoring them. Jig C.

Many of us are having similar issues, especially at peak hours. SL isn't exactly doing well with the huge growth spurt in the past couple of months as far as scalability goes.

Thanks Sunspot - at least it is nice to know I'm not the only one - I even fly like a Newbie with serious lag - I have travelled deep into the mountains Lol and my hair follows some time later. Lol. Keep advice coming.

The problems you describe are largely affected by the sim you're in, but everyone everywhere is suffering. I know in Serenity Woods there's a hefty amount of chat lag, but attachments, flying, IMs, and map info still seem to load pretty fast. In the next sim over however chat is lag free, but movement is iffy at times and my friends list doesn't update. Hopefully the pending update this week will fix most of it (without introducing too many bugs. >P ).

So hard not to comment on updates fixing thing .

On-topic, it seems sim lag, packet loss and asset server problems all cause different kinds of problems although I'm not really convinced anymore that time dilation still represents how well a sim will behave .

Just be sure, have you checked your mute list? I had one friend that ended up with nearly all of her friends on mute for some odd reason, that would block IMs and tp's. If you normally spend most of your time in the same sims, try going somewhere else and try there. I've noticed that IM/group IM problems tend to occur on certain sims, while after moving to the next sim over it all works fine.

That could have happened while muting the anti-copybot objects - I noticed a bunch of muted people yesterday that I hadn't muted either - turned out they had put out the !quit objects and I'd muted those.
