Is this a Friend List bug?

Yet another thing I've only noticed since that last update. Not a big deal, just curious.

Today a person on my friend list IMed me and said "stop stalking me"... I'm assuming he was joking... I hope

He said every time he logs on, I'm appearing to log on at the same time. I've noticed this on my own PC with friends in my list, I don't recall if its always the same one or not, but its always someone... each time I log in.

What's up with this? Is there any way to stop it? Like I said, it's not a big deal to me but I really don't know if he believed me or not when I told him my explanation or if he was just playing.

That is just your friends list telling you which friends are online, my friends list has always done that, except when it doesn't show ANYONE online and they really are.

It's not a bug. It's a feature The special feature is telling you that someone is online and they are not, just to give you that warm fuzzy feeling. The feature the say someone is offline where they are online because the system knows by reading your mind that you don't want to be bother with them anyway.

besides, unless you are sitting right next to them, HOW would you know when they logged on? it's kind of funny that they'd say that. LOL

maybe I didn't clarify... I was talking about the blue pop up when a friend is just logging in or out. For example today... he thought I was just logging in because he got the pop up as he logged in, when in reality I had been on for hours and I wasn't just relogging either.

It's all just a ruse to keep you confused so you don't notice all the other nifty features that LL provides in SL such as, just to mention a few, the wonderful "don't move, stay where you are" lag feature, the "we've decided that you didn't need this" disappearing inventory feature, the "you're wearing your hair, shoes and other items in the wrong places, so we'll fix that for you" teleport feature and many other features, too numerous to list.

Ah, yes the friends lists. Now that is just a joke as are notifications.

The other night, I'm with a some friends, one of whom was off-line on the in-world friends list and online on the web page friends list. The other friend was online on the in-world list and off-line on the web page list. I was off-line to both of them on both list. After being with them for about 45 minutes, I received the notification that the off-line one had just logged in.

Gotta love it. It's always a challenge to try and guess which feature is on todays agenda when I come in-world. LOL

doesn't your friend have more than one friend? they should ALL do it, unless they are all hiding.

Then there is the times your friends log in but you don't see anything no blue notice or everyone appears to be offline when they aren't.
I just figure its weird glitch. Or all my friends are on invisible mode and hiding from me but are in same area as me.

Its always done that when I log in. I assumed it was normal behavoir.

Basically when you log in it picks one person who is currently online on your friends list and pops up the box telling you they are online.
