I am interested in buidling a sim/island for kids and teens for a non-profit, probably in the teen grid. ... but I am not a teen and some of the people building with me are not teens.

Any suggestions about how I can best go about doing this.

(I am assuming that adults are not allowed on the teen grid)

Thank you in advance.

I am aware of special conditions surrounding these circumstances. Adults can be allowed on the teen grid for the specific purpose of building a sim, but there are a number of restrictions. First off, you will have to undergo an extensive background check. Secondly, you will only be allowed onto the specific private island, and any teens who go to that island will be informed that adults are present. Third, you will not be able to carry any content from the main grid with you to the teen grid; your presence on the teen grid will effectively be an alt created there. I remember learning of this somewhere.

I would assume you approach LL to purchase an island on the teen grid and explain your intentions.

One possible workaround would be to disintermediate LL and use OpenMetaverse client software (OpenSL) and sim software (OpenSim):

That's an interesting approach .. I'll take a look at that option. Thanks Elex.

This has been done before. You can bring the island up on the main grid, have adults work on it, and move it over to the teen grid when it is finished.

There is a certain level of absurdity to this whole thing.
