I brought a 1024 and figured out that I didn't need all the prims, so I moved back down to a 512, does it automatically fix things for me?

no, it doesn't. go to land use fees page and make sure your contribution is 512, and then click the radio button for the appropriate tier.

Even though you tiered down you will still need to pay the tier on the extra 512 sqm this month. The figures adjust after the next billing period.
