Seamless sim border crossing.
Not crashing.
Make the land search such that you can click the next button at greater than a snail's pace.
An end to gray loading textures.
Sufficient control over the sun to make it look like I want it to look.
A good text editor for scripts and notecards.
Html notecards.
Html on a prim.
Portable music players so you can listen to a stream wherever you are using the SL music player.
Multiple video streams per parcel.
Adjustable gravity. Local user definable gravity fields.
Land parcels that can be moved.
Etc.
Incidentally, there is a feature suggestion forum full of years worth of suggestions of what people would like to see added to or changed about SL.

An end to inventory losses. People are still losing attachements.

Can't..... resist.....posting.....tired and exhausted negative comments......vehicles that work....better sim crossings....less lag...better permissions...better inventory....better....... *exhales* Whew, ok. To answer your question more on topicish: weather and seasons would be cool. Going to sim where there was rain, snow, fog, overcast skies, summer turning to autumn (turning leaves on the trees) turning to winter etc. would be cool. The sky looks great. How about something that looks good below the horizon when in a skybox:

From: SuezanneC Baskerville An end to gray loading textures. What should prims look like before it's textures load? And weather and seasons would be awesome.

From: Keiki Lemieux An end to inventory losses. People are still losing attachements. Mia has lost multiple eyes that she's had in her inventory. Permanently! Not even just a temporary loss, they never come back! >.< So frustrating.

I've bought several thousand L$ worth of furry avatars, through long hours of camping. If I lost those items I would probably give up on Second Life. No point in spending all this time camping just to have it go up in smoke.

Definitely weather... that would be SO COOL.
How about some decent live translating software? Seems that Babbler is not very reliable.

Weather would really impress me, actually. There are some days when I log in that I'd just love to go to a sim like Midian and have heavy clouds hanging overhead, thunderstorms and lightning and rain.

SL working like it did a year ago would be nice. windlight..added shiny, doesn't bother me (I'll be on default so no change) voice .. wont use it, and its likely to kill chat

Yeah... That would be nice. I use shiny, I don't want this windlight crap so much. I'll use voice, but only on my private land with my personal friends and my girlfriend.
I miss when I was a noob and I could easily fly around different sims, just exploring on my own for a couple of hours, without worrying about massive intense lag or crashing when I crossed a sim border.

THey should load so fast you dont even realise the that the rim was even textured.

They usually look gray right before they load.

If Windlight will be able to be configured via script, I can see user-scripted weather systems being a possibility... at least on a islandwide scale. llRegionSay makes full sim weather control easy!

From: Rocketman Raymaker THey should load so fast you dont even realise the that the rim was even textured. Thank you, I'd been meaning to post that for a while now. It's ok for it take some time, just so long as it's well below the threshold of human perception. Maybe, oh, 1/500th of a second, to be on the safe side. I'd find this much more immersion inducing. Oh yeah, Havoc 5 or 6 or whatever it's at when it arrives.

Weather systems
06-03-2007 23:28
here are a few places that have weather systems and seasons to sell...they are quite good. The Damani Weather system is the best I believe....very realistic with sounds.

I look forward to HTML on prims, this will be a significant step forward in LL's goal of revolutionising the internet. In addition to that I would like to see an overhaul of the graphics engine, a good client based toolset to create sculpted prims and mirror prims will be nice too.
