I just received an e-mail asking me to reset my password following a link provided. This is someone trying to steal my information, correct?

Linden Lab and the Second Life Team"

I removed the links provided.

Do residents know of scams like this currently going on? Or if this isn't a scam?

Oh, and if this is in fact Linden Labs - I never reset my password following a link in an e-mail.

oh and I searched before starting this thread.

That is what I assume. So, heads up for the rest of the Residents and Linden Lab (both if it is a scam and if it isn't - if it isn't your e-mail looks like a scam).

Its a scam, But in the future, read who the email is from (i.e support@secondlife.com, teeple@lindenlab.com). If there is no LindenLab or SecondLife at the right of the '@', its a scam.

I removed the links provided.

Okay... by removing the link(s) provided we have no way of knowing where the e-mail message _might_ be trying to direct you.

When checking for possible phishing hover your mouse over the link and look at the text that will appear at the bottom of your browser window. Or, simply right-click the link and copy it into the location bar. What you're looking for is to see if it's _not_ directing you to secondlife.com.

I heard never trust the return address as those are easily spoofed. Stupid people are up to their phishing scams I fear. There is a region in romania where the entire economy is based on internet fraud.
