My map has never shown sim population. While no big crisis, I would love to be able to see this.
I have asked numerous knowledgeable people, but none have been able to figure out what my problem is.
I have "person" checked on the map options and have tried checking and unchecking all the other options, but nothing works to show population on a sim when I hold my cursor over it.
Is there something I do not have checked that I should or something I need to uncheck?
I have deleted and reloaded SL several times - still no population figures.
I would appreciate any help here or IM ingame.

Hmm, you mean the green dots that appear where each one represents a person? Those should appear when you are looking at a sim on the map when you have the person selection checked. If it still wont work for you, you can go into a sim, go into the View tab, and click on the statistics bar. A window will pop up with info about the sim you are in. The part that says Main Agents = how many people are in the sim with you including yourself. I'm not sure how to fix the green dot problem unless you need to delete the SL file in the application data folder in your C: drive when you uninstall and reinstall.

Very strange.
I never had this problem before. While open the map, the people in the surrounding area do always appear. It may take some time to load...

First of all, thank you to the two that replied.
The green "people dots" show up fine.
It's the text that is supposed to appear under your cursor, giving you the total amount of people on that sim, that does not work.
It's a rare problem and there may be no fix for it. No one I've talked to knows how to fix it.

that happened to me awhile back, I just figured an SL bug and ignored it and used the stats list instead.
now it seems to work again... I did nothing to fix it or change anything
hopefully it will correct its' self for you as well
