Observations re: Teleport Failure this weekend

Saturday and Sunday, I had a lousy time with TP's, and insane packet loss, primarily in the "New Continent". It wasn't so bad Saturday, I could teleport anywhere in the New Land, in a blink, say... Loom Weaver to Larkspur. But I'd timeout every time I tried to TP to the Mainland. I finally figured out I could get there by 'Island Hopping'. I'd tp to random islands between New Continent and Mainland, and at between 1/3 of the way there and halfway, I'd be able to TP to my destination in literally 1-2 seconds without fail.
By sunday morning, the New Continent was unusable. I was ruthed on every login, and reboots, even cable modem and router resets weren't the answer. Once I managed to get away from the New Continent, everything ran like lightning. No problems whatsoever. After a while, I returned to New Continent, and PL went crazy, I'm talking hovering around 4-10% and spiking >20%. I tried help requesting twice, saturday and sunday, and was politely told to read the teleport tips in the KB.

Yes, dropping attachments makes your TP faster, and I was able to escape the New Continent again with this method. Once I got back to the "Old World", everything was great again.

I post this just out of curiosity, did anyone else notice this?

To recap, at least at first, New Continent ran great, Old World ran great, but TP's directly between the two were out of the question. The New Continent went to PL-Hades, and an island-hopping escape was mandatory, at least for me and my wife.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Not to be snarky, but this is something that has been going on for a while now, especially on the weekends. When the user sign on hits 30k or more, it starts making the grid wonky.

There's nothing you can do on your end but be patient, take off all the extra stuff that you don't need (I'm waiting for them to tell me to TP naked. that'll get a laugh or two I bet), and just have patience.

Sorry you had trouble, but so did I and I'm sure plenty of other users out there.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I've only been on SL for a little over 6 weeks, but I'm on every day, and Sunday was the worst 10X over. I was just wondering if anyone had noticed how horrible the "New Continent" was Sunday, or was it just my system, and if anyone had noticed that during peak hours, the chances of a TP failing appear to increase with distance.
