I was checking out this magazine very official and profressional site gear towards Second life almost similar name it was saying how this one slurl site would teach me how to make a waterfall.
I got there and it was something about the copy bot and book saying the designer charges 3000 usd only for his waterfalls and no other information.
What I did see as far far as waterfalls or what not wasn't that great heck my first SL friend I paid 1500L for something better but like noobie idiot I accidentally dismantled.
My question is how can someone promote themselves as something or have someone else do it and only be misleading?
Why would someone pay or charge 3000 usd for virtual waterfall?
I am bit annoyed trying to figure out how to animate my waterfalls.
I dragged the particle script nothing happen. How many prims does it take for waterfalls
There been few events I seen promoted only to go to them and nothing is going on there.
Any suggestions?

People can charge whatever they want for anything. It's up to the consumer to decide whether it's worth it.

If you're interested in animating your waterfalls, you can pick up some free scripts and whatnot at Yadni's Junkyard. The splashing water sample there is quite nice, and includes a particle generator to simulate splashing. I think there are some water-related scripts in some of the boxes of scripts there too.

Additionally, look in the Library folder of your inventory. There are some water samples/scripts there as well.

I got them I just can't figure them out how to get them to work in spite of trying.
I guess people can charge what they want and pay people to mislead people to visit too but if this is what Second Life is about? Or is it common for some person with lot of Lindens or money to pay someone to spin place to visit which isn't worth spinning in first place?

I know the place you are talking about. The creator there has long offered paid courses in water desgin in SL. She sells her water prims, textures, particles, and scripts, along with a tutorial about how to make the effects she does.

The problem is that most education in SL has been (so far) free. So it would be easy for an outsider with a basic knowledge of SL to list that place along with free education sites (like NCI or ASL or TUi) without understanding it had a tuition fee.

Since LL is killing support for classes as of December 9th, instructors charging tuition fees will be come more and more common.

BTW--I've seen her water effects and have a friend who purchased her package. It's nice stuff.
