Any chance you can post your system specs? It would help and save you time and potentially money.. no point putting a new saddle on a dying horse.

Benn, I have the 9550 and I'm well pleased with it. One question: How much System RAM do you have?

check power supply

One point to throw in right at the beginning. Everyone needs to make sure their pc power supply meets the system requirements for their new graphics card. It’s right on the side of the box. Most of the new higher end cards require 350 watt minimum power supply. Most stock…OEM power supply boxes that come with your new pc are less then that. Now you’re thinking GREAT…one more thing to worry about. But I think some of the problems that I see people post here could actually be a result of inadequate power supply to their pc. I’m just say n DK

From: Benn Uggla I have 1GB but I'm going to get another GB also shortly. Upgrading computers isn't a linear path. I'm on 1Gb with my 9550 which is a fair performer. I could go to an nVidia 7600GT which has received great accolades here but my aging P4 is USB1 despite puting a supposedly USB2 controller card in, I'm still restriced on USB speed so this is a factor toward replacement. Secondly, AGP doesn't have much more headroom. I believe the 7600 might be the last step I could go, so PCIE is another factor for renewal. My DRAM speed 333 is a little slow too so reason 3. Just a guide to show what AWM infers by telling us your system specs.

This one not only doesn't make noise.... It is EXTREME SILENT... first card to actually absorb sound from other devices.

thanks for listening to all of the advice. I took everything everyone said into complete consideration, I wouldn't of ordered it without shopping ''around'' ..and asking a lot of people

From: Benn Uggla I took everything everyone said into complete consideration, I wouldn't of ordered it without shopping ''around'' ..and asking a lot of people You never gave anyone your system specs which plays heavily into performance. ATI is notorious for being a horrible performer with SL and Nvidia is well known to handle SL very well...and yet you got an ATI. Do these people that suggested an ATI card also play SL? or do they play DirectX style games?
