This might be a basic question but,,,,.

I might be moving a Castle to another property I own in a different sim. Needless to say I have quite a few furnishings inside and attached to the outside.

If I link everything I want to stay with the Castle, can I then take the structure into my inventory and rez it on the new site with all linked objects still attached to their original places?

This won't be so easy, you would have 2 problems :

- firstly your castle is likely to be too big and have too many prims to be linked, you'll have to separate it in several link sets and name them
- secondly do NOT link any furniture to your building, because when unlinking you will unlink everything (then good luck to relink your furnitures and doors one by one, remembering their root prims)

What you should do is select your castle area by area, link them separately (say, Tower, Main Hall, Bedroom and so on), take your furnitures one by one in your inv and finally take your castle in your inv.

You also have the option of buying a rezzer that will remember the positions of all your building parts (that you are the creator of, hence having copy and mod perms), but I don't know much more about that as I never used one myself.

Good luck.

Not sure about this, never tried myself, but if you return all your objects to your inventory it will get all under one (or a few) objects in your lost and found. Whether that eature created lot of problems to people thinking they lost their stuff it might be a good thing for your purpose.
You'll have ALL your objects that you'll be returning into a single object in your lost and found, rezzing it in your new land will "probably" have your castle and furniture and all back at thair place.
I didnt try that myself, so maybe someone who tried to rezz their returned objects "box" can say better ;)

I'd do it a different way.

Open an edit box and drag a selection box around your entire castle (hopefully its not TOO big to do this)

Everything should highlight, and then right click and select "take"

Your entire castle and all of its furnishing will be taken into inventory as one object. It may be a name you might not recognize in your inventory...just make note of it.

Once you get to your new land, open an edit box and drag your castle/object out of inventory and place it on the ground. You can then move the entire object (with furnishings) into position using the edit arrows...rotating it is possible as well.
BUT!!
Before closing the edit box, make sure you have your castle where you want it because once you close the edit box your castle will once again be a bunch of seperate objects as it was before you moved it.
