Hello All,

Is there a place that sells buildings with both copy and transfer permissions?

Thanks for your info.

If anyone does sell buildings with these perms then they are an idiot.

Copy and transfer are rarely given together because that is an invitation for the buyer to sell infinite copies of an item.

It is an extremely rare seller who would do this. If they did, they would probably charge a LOT more for the item (if they had any sense at all), because they are pretty much losing their future profit potential completely.

It's doubtful you'll find many doing this.

You can get freebie buildings with both copy and transfer permissions from places such as Yadni's. But as others here have said, no-one would sell an item with both copy and transfer permission because that would allow you to give as many copies as you liked to other people for free, removing the point of selling.

I understand this and basically that is the idea, though. It would be no problem to pay extra, because I understand the 'loss' of income. I would like to be able to sell a plot of land fully furnished with a home. It would be nice to have a standard furnished house that I could put on it. Now I have to buy a new house everytime.

Thnx for the responses everyone.

You could leave your copy on the land for the new owner to enjoy until he returns it.

99% of land buyers will return every last prim that you decorated the land with, as well as the house, and will change all the terraforming, likely before they log off for the night on the same day that they buy the parcel from you. You're wasting your money.

Yes there is.

Aces's Spaces. Ace's STAT Home, a basic prefab for I think 350L is certainly copy/mod. Redecorating is not for the faint hearted but it can be done. Nice little house too. Not sure about the others sold there but I do think a few are copy mod or both.

Ceera, you are so right...I innocently did that on a parcel I bought and really hurt the seller's feelings...they had put a lot of thought and care into the house and terra forming.

People buy land to do their own thing...

Yeah, really people...there ARE legitimate reasons to need a copy/transfer building. I need some, actually, but as a realist I don't expect to FIND any, and if I do, they'll be expensive as all get-out. People simply don't like to part with +copy/+Transfer things, just on principle, regardless of how much you offer them.

And Ceera is right...land is largely just an 'investment' vehicle now, at least from a pessimistic point of view. I thought about doing the same thing, and it just didn't make sense. The 1% who actually care ARE out there, but they don't have land scanners.

Matt, it isn't even an issue of "land investment" versus actually using the land. Most people have their own personal vision of what they want their land to look like, and whether they have the skill or resources to transform it well or not, they dive right in and try to remake the land in their own image.

I made some beautiful tropical islands once, and each carefully landscaped parcel had a cute little bungalo or larger house on it, that would be for sale or for rent. The sim owner paid a tidy sum for a full-perms license on 4 home designs for the sim.

Someone else later bought the sim. Claimed they loved what I had done with it.

Now, almost every time a parcel on those islands is sold or transferred, I get bombarded with the home and objects from the land, as the new owner clearcuts the entire parcel to prepare it for their own idea of what it should look like.

I won't even go back to those sims now. They no longer resemble whey I spent so many months creating.

Indeed my copyable houses are no-transfer, just to clear that up and stop any mad rush.

Ceera I think you're probably right, but I do get IMs now and then from people asking me to help them use a house that was bought from me (copy/no transfer) and "sold" with the land for them to use. Some were scammed by thinking they actually bought it, others understood it was always going to be the technical property of the land seller. In either case they're not returning the items on the lot. I'm not going to comment on how I feel about being asked to do support on something of mine that someone else is "reselling" multiple times after buying once :)

To the OP - For a copy/trans custom job, someone might do it for you, but I'd be surprised if any established prefab creator would do it for less than well into five figures L$ for even a low cost "off the peg no transfer" model.

Still, there's always someone out there hungry enough to do the work for very little, so no harm in asking on the services wanted forums etc. You'd effectively be commissioning a build.

Ace, first of all, congratulations on the great houses you make. After all the replies I understand that a copy & transfer house is very handy for me, but almost undoable for a builder because of the way the transfer/copy system works.

I found a 10-pack at your store, which I think is a good alternative. I still get the advantage of a bulk buy and can deliver up to 10 lands with a house. The downside is that I have to furnish these houses everytime I use one. Well, you can't have it all.

Thnx.
