Where would I find those cute little symbols such as the hearts and music notes that I've seen in chat and in profiles?
Is there a website to copy and paste them off of?

Bare with me, I know nothing about Windows and their OS, but don't you already have some sort of 'special characters' option in 'edit'? You can just Copy them, then log in and Paste (CTRL-V) onto a notecard.

In the Character Map yes but none of the Wingdings have symbols such as notes and hearts. I tried to copy some of the Wingding characters but they turn out to me different characters in world.

Then there are the swirl patterns made with different punctuations and characters. It’s the swirley things that I would like to know how to make. |

Many Unicode symbols work well in SL.
