I have bought a couple items from different locations in SL, and I cant seem to use them. They are hair, but the object that is in my inventory appears to just be a box and when I wear it, they appear as such.

The hair should be inside the box. Rez it on the ground, right click it and choose 'open,', then 'copy to inventory.' The hair should then be moved into your inventory, probably in a folder. You can then right click the hair from that folder and click 'wear.' Good luck!

rezz the box on the ground. Right click on the box with your mouse. Choose open from the pie chart of options. Then copy the contents to your inventory.
The item is most likely packaged in the box.
If not.. and you bought it from a reputable business owner, try IMing them.
If you got it from a yard sale, you may of fallen victim to a common scam. Sometimes unscrupulous people sell empty boxes or boxes that do not have the original content inside.

At least you figured out that it was wrong to wear a box. I ran around with a box with clothes on my head for a day. I figured that everybody else would see the clothes I was supposed to be wearing, and that I was the only one that was seeing the box....  |
