At first I thought the sim was loading at first but after few attempts same thing happens. I am currently still being forced into the air as I type and the third set of cordnate has his hit 15300 and keeps raising? Please someboady help me before I get blasted out of the stratsphere.

The neighbours might be unhappy that mindless camping chair drones are lagging the sim, so they put those devices to kick people off. Simple? |

First off the are only three camping poses there, the rest is sex related pose balls and a male gential vendor there. Its generaly a sex community sim. I looked up the owner of the cage and reported him for abuse. That sim is a popular sim as I saw several people who came afterwards get blasted also.

Hey I mainly camp out if I'm going to be away for a while, so besides just standing somewhere not doing anything, might as well have my avatar earn some spending money. You say camping destroys lives, well maybe some of us don't have the artistic talent to create something that we think is worth selling. Yeah I had an idea to make specail types of avatars and sell them, but the problem is I'm not that artisc myself and so far everything I tried turned out not as I wanted. So this is for all those who maybe not as gifted as those who are as talened.

Not everyone has the ability to create stuff and sell it for a profit - despite all the SL marketing hype.
However, everyone has the ability to click that little "L$" button on the top right of your screen to purchase game money. Camping chairs drag down everyone else in the region, use far more than their fair share of resources, and are simply zombies that provide nothing to the game, and even less to those who are paying to provide the things for you to enjoy. Never, ever will I use a camping chair, have one on any land I own, or stay in anywhere I go to that has them. I care for my fellow players, and if more people did, then perhaps camping chairs would die off. Paying people to make your crap build look more popular than it is is the height (or depths) of lameness. Lewis _____________________

Paying people to make your crap build look more popular than it is is the height (or depths) of lameness. Lewis I never said I paid anyone to make my crap look better cause I haven't built anything yet. As I stated in another post I offered to slit any potentail profits made if someone would hel me. If I did get someone to help me whats wrong with that? If I' able to get this avatar idea of mine off the ground, then I can stop reling on camping chairs or the kindness of friends for my income. |

Fair enough Victoria, I understand why you use camping chairs and agree that to create/sell or market a business in Second Life takes a degree of thought. Therefore camping chairs do provide the chance to earn a modest amount of Lindens while you evaluate options. Also I would point out that to use your credit card to purchase micro amounts of Linden dollars is not cost effective. So don't listen to your detractors and push on with what you are doing. Finally here is one business idea from me. It is worthwhile upgrading to premium account status asap. The reasons why are simple insomuch as it will immediately give you access to two business ideas (which with the additional use of camping chairs) will earn you money. First of all cost, around $22.50 per quarter or $72.00 per year real US. Very modest. Now your return on that is a Linden dollar bonus up front and a regular $L400 per week stipend. At the current Linden dollar exchange rate of about 290:1 that is worth about $1.37 per week or $17.81 per quarter or $71.24 per annum. So in broad terms the stipend covers the quarterly or annual real dollar cost. What a premium account also enables you to do is to buy up to 512 square meters of land without further tier costs. Do it and constantly trade land at the 512 square meter level. In other words buy land (512 square meters mature, excluding snow or hill land at any Linden dollar price below 2,750 and sell it on at around 2,800 to 2,900. It is quite surprising how many times per week you can do that if you shop around. Always price your land for a very quick sell, even if the profit per deal is only $50 to $100, remember its land turnover that counts Sit in camping chairs in between doing this. These three simple strategies (land trading, stipend, and camping chairs) could earn you up to $L 2,500 per week or around $L32,000 in a quarter. That is enough money and time to enable you to experiment within Second Life and see if it is for you without great financial risk. If in three months time you feel Second Life is not for you, cash the Lindens out and tier down and collect around $100 real US on current exchange rates. Finally, this works. I did it as an experiment for around three months to help pay for another Second Life project I have in mind |

Nice post John, and I think you've identified one thing that few people have thought about.
Starting a real world business needs capital. You pay for premises, you pay for stock, you pay for machinery, office equipment and stationery, telephone, fax machine, internet access, etc etc, and can be quite a huge amount. Yet people are coming into Second Life, expecting to start a business - whatever it may be - with no investment. We aren't talking hundreds of thousands of dollars here - we're talking the cost of a pizza, that may well fund you for a whole month or so of not only developing your product range - but also having fun playing the game too. By the way Victoria, I didn't mean it to come across as 'your stuff is crap' - that was a reference to places that pay people to sit and do nothing. Actually, the simple fact that you have an idea, and are looking at how to develop it, and are making an effort to do something, is more than a lot of people do. Being proactive is important in business, and you already have that as an advantage over others who are just sitting on their butts wasting bandwidth. I hope your idea takes off, and I look forward to seeing it some day. There's some good advice to be found amongst the other players in SL, and I'm sure many of us would be happy to help. I'm sorry for taking your last comment out of context, my bad. I've got great idea's for avatars that I've searched for and can't find and thats where I wanna start first. If there is any designer willing to help, please either IM me in game or reply here willing to split all potenail profits. Right now I'm going to bed so I'm fresh to try again on ideas.

I have an idea for an avatar. Make them look like camping chairs.
So the zombies come over and start sitting on you. When they start going comatose, you can fly into some other place and dump them. |

How about a row of camping chairs with an "unsit" script as soon as people try to sit down... *evil chuckle*

How about a row of camping chairs with an "unsit" script as soon as people try to sit down... *evil chuckle* Lewis Timer in the script... advertised payout at 3 minutes, unsit triggers at 2 min 50 seconds. 2nd timer to actually pay out 10 min after the unsit, after the practical joke has had time to get the victim steamed. |

Before you sign up to primo membership.... the stipend was reduced to $300L a week.
... but anyway... I feel exactly the same way Lewis feels regarding camping chairs. There is a delusion that camping chairs actually bring an "income" $2L? $3L? every ten minutes? The other delusion is that people camping think they need this camping money to have money.... when in actuality, rarely are campers sitting in a camping chair to receive money for a reason. most are there because of the concept of "free money." Usually when I ask a camper (if they're not a zombie) what they want to buy, they say "nothing, I just want free money" _____________________

Usually when I ask a camper (if they're not a zombie) what they want to buy, they say "nothing, I just want free money" I remember in TSO when people had "Skill farms" and stuff for sale in these farms, when you'd ask people if they were going to buy something, and they would say "nothing, I just want free skill points" I think these people migrated here! _____________________
