Help me i hav ebeen left like this for days !!!! where is the the tech support. Do you know how to teleport ? Better yet, when you login to SL, login to a different sim. You can do this with the box below your first name on the signin screen. After you login, if you still get these snapshots, then the next step is to change your visual settings. Hold down the CTRL key, then hold down ALT, and then tap the letter D key. This puts Client on the menu up at the top of your screen. Click on Client. Go down to Rendering. Go over to Types. Start clicking OFF the kinds of rendering (simple, alpha, tree, bump, etc..). Very soon you will not see any shots or really anything. Then, you can ask other people for help. You can come back to this forum and more people will help you. Do you understand all this so far ?

Open your chat history, and then mute the object spamming you from the drop down at the top. Mute works for objects as well as avatars.
This was in the texture spam thread. It should help you also.

I'm lucky I saw the texture spam thread. I think that may help her.

See who owns one of the pictures and mute them. Then all pictures are refused.

Would doing World Set Busy be of any value in getting a moment of peace quickly?
That should stop inventory offers, which I think is what "texture spam" is.

Muting drawbacks
04-27-2007 01:50
From: bladyblue Bommerang See who owns one of the pictures and mute them. Then all pictures are refused. The main drawback with muting is that your client still continues to register the attempted "give" of the texture (or notecard) and will fill your chat history with "You declined asdfasdf from Object33" or some such item/object combo. This has the (unintended?) effect of capping your IM's when you log out and back in later. It also increases your client bandwidth - I was the victim of a notecard attack last week, so I decided to do some packet sniffing while waiting for a Linden to actually stop the offender (I knew his name and the name of his notecard givers). Bandwidth consumption was up approx 15% over normal while my client was refusing to accept the notecards. So, while muting the offending object (and person) will help alleviate the spam, the detrimental effects of the spam attack continue until the source of the spam is turned off. Just one more of a myriad of current issues. At least turning off the spam won't crash you out to your desktop.

The idea of logingin to a different location is probably the best option, unless it is actually someone dropping you multiple textures etc from your profile. You have to set the 'Display Location at login' function in preferences at the login screen, before you can gain that option. Have someone give you a safe location before you type in a location, otherwise a typo may land you back at the default/last location. This happened to me once... it turnned out to be a 'backlog' of items people were dropping me over a whole week (and I do get quite a few), which had sat on some stalled server somewhere.

From my experience, you can pass along inventory to anyone in world at any time any place. I don't get how moving to a new sim would stop that. I usually have friends handing me things from various parts of the grid. basically all you need is someones UUID for the script, and you can get that extremely easily... >.>
