Would I need a Super Expander card to run SL with this config?

This should run SL very well indeed. The only thing you may need to do is update the video drivers; I've heard of people having issues in SL with the 8800 cards.

Hmm.. does it come with Turbotape II ? Or else, not interested..
My first personal computer was a C64, actually. What we see here is not a real Commodore. IIRC, a guy or group bought the rights to use the Commodore brand name. According to the "About us" information on their site, that happened in 2005. They are building PCs using standard (high quality) parts. As for the price on those systems.. I don't want to know. 2x150GB 10K RPM RAID + 1x 500GB 7200 RPM HD, pretty expensive SB soundcard, expensive Intel CPU, 2x of the best high end gamer graphics card currently available in a SLI setup, and so on. Add to this the cost of the graphic decoration on the case, the thorough testing every single system is going through before they send it out (which really is a good thing, by the way, that way you can be sure everything works and is optimized for best possible performance when you receive yours, like Alienware do with their systems), and of course the price they paid for the rights to the Commodore brand name. They claimed somewhere that they hope to be able to compete on price. I am looking forward to see what it all will cost, although I doubt they will be able to cut it lower than Alienware. Another thing.. I can only choose United Kingdom in settings. I guess that means they will only deliver to a limited area of the world market? At least it is in Europe, so I am not complaining. |

If those hold up as well as the original did- and I still have mine- then I'd go for one! But only 50 games built-in?? PFfftttt- I have more than that sitting upstairs in a case
![]() LOL! I had to explain to my fiancee what a "Disk Puncher" was. Remember? The old trick with the Single Sided/Double Density floppies? Punch a write/protect notch on the other edge & you now have a Dual Sided Floppy Disk. ![]() |

I always loved my C64. I even rigged up a 1541 drive to run on a PC once, using star commander for DOS to transfer the disks to roms.
