I just had a heck of a time logging in. Could not resolve the dns name. Then finally I got in, but i cannot teleport to any location. The progress bar barely moves during teleport, then after a long time, and only about 1/4 of the way, it dings and says "you've disconnected from second life..." and I have to quit the whole console.
Are there still network problems or should I be calling my isp?

After 10 relogs, complete with cache clearing and obsenities, I have logged for the afternoon.
* Prims deleted, remain on the sim
* Perma-ruthed avatar (not that I have a party to go to, but I'm trying -ha ha- to build furniture and "ruth" is way shorter than the average avatar these days, so poseball placement, height, etc, is a joke).
* Teleports are sketchy at best
* Lag spikes

Misti, when my ISP or my DSL connection is the problem, I generally get the "Despite our best efforts, we were unable to connect to Second Life" message. Your problem sounds like it's another iffy evening on the grid coming up...

Ok, i won't reach for the phone then to bug my isp! shwew...
I've only been a member of sl for a few days, and have really only been able to get in world a few times... and still waiting. But, it looks like it will be pretty cool when things get ironed out

Go find Michael Bigwig and find out what sim is his and log in there. It appears to be a magical sim with no issues. Frankly, I'm movin there.

Well, I just got stuck in mid air. Since I cannot teleport anywhere, I tried to "fly" to a different portion of the location where I currently am, like way over to the other end, maybe I could teleport from over there.
I started flying, and had no control with my direction keys.. my character just kept flying into outer space... and kept on going - I X'd out of the whole cp.
Maybe I should have stayed to see where it would have taken me? lol

Just hit me, appearnce not loading, some inventory not working.
I would relogg and see if it helped but when I did that yesterday i was greeted by a loggins disabled message. It would be nice to get an inworld message when that happens so you would be aware and not relogg.

re. Flight On Autopilot... That behavior can happen if you try to cross a banline, or sometimes when crossing a sim border...might not be a grid issue. Welcome to Second Life...the place where darn near anything can happen, either accidentally or on purpose.  |
