I rented a house today. Now my Avatar is identified as Tenant Donny London. How do I get rid of "tenant"?

Right-click your avatar, select "groups" and pick "none", or any other group, then click "activate". Just remember to activate your tenant group again before you put down furniture, otherwise it might be returned to you after some minutes.

There is also something in the option window (I think the first pane) that allows you to hide your group title. That way you don't have to remember to activate and deactivate the group.

Others will still see taht group title (unless they disable the option to see others' titles).

I think you'll find you're mistaken here Warda. I'm pretty certain when my fiancee took group tags off, I couldn't see her tag. But then, with SL in flakey mode it could have been mere coincidence. Further, I am confused when I see avatars seemingly displaying no name even at times.

There were two options presented, i was commenting on only one of them.
Selecting "no group" as your active group will hide teh title for all people who look at you.
Selecting the display option in teh prferences (or whatever it is called) menubar tab will stop it displaying for only yourself.

If you go to "Preferences -> General -> Hide my group title", no one will see the group tag above your head (even if you have one activated). There is also an option to hide your name "Preferences -> General -> Hide my name on my screen", this will only hide the name on your own screen, but others will still see it on theirs. Meni.
