My PD building and my Chief's inventory suddenly vanished and Chief is unable to get it back. This action have hurted us considerbly and I find it is hard to keep up my fighting spirit and remain in SL. But I am clinging to my hope, just maybe something will come along to subtain my spirit. Law enfrocement and police culture is very much part of our RL and we were hoping to help SL communties by using progressive, proactive, community orienated and gentle pollcing. We even had discussed on teaching newbies how to protect themselves from greifers. We had patrol around Help Island and seeing how newbies are doing and asking if they need helps. But...all of our dream was crushed. I found myself and Chief, too... have lost desire to keep this goal and we decided we do not want to be an officer again. Not for a long while. Maybe someday but I don't see it from this point.

So I am going to try again and see if I can make it work this time. What I would like to do is to create Blue Angel's Police Memorial Garden. I would like to see the diversity of cultures including religions work together as a collbrative, collective effort to make this turn into reality. Then invite SL members who may be RL police officers or members that know fallen police offcer to put name on the wall.

I also would like to teach RL lessons that I have from RL law enforcement and use this Citizen Police Academy. The purpose of this is to educate members about what it take to be a police officers; what kind of training they have to take,;what do they face in everyday routine;how does the media play a role in shaping people's perspective about police department and of course, just how SL's police/ SWAT " rolepalying" have seriously damaged SL/RL officer's repuation ( of course). And it is open to anyonoe and it is free. This sesson would last six weeks on Sat, however, members are not require to attend all sessions.

But with everything being gone, I do need your help. If you have a place for police memorial garden, just let me know. This is all I have as a purpose to continue visiting SL , otherwise... I don't think I want to do anything else in SL and may decrease my visiting to SL.

How much space do you need?

Although I'm not sure how much longer I wish to pay fees for Mainland land. There's a lot of ugly things happening in this game and I'm really feeling uneasy about supporting it by even playing it, much less providing financial support.

But who knows, maybe doing something positive might make me stick around longer.

I have no association with police at all. However, my real life career has been centered around public protection as a government regulator (utilities and environment).

My one Brother is a Police Officer, the other is career Air Force, my Father and Uncles were Firemen, My Mom and I are Teachers, so public service runs deep in my family. I don't have any land or such to offer, but I would be more than happy to add financial or anyother support to your project if needed. Hit me up here or in world.
Please don't give up. All our Public Servants are the backbone of our society. Sadly many do not live up to the task, but thoe who do are truly heroes.

I'm an SL land dealer so I have a lot of parcels scattered throughout the mainland. I'd be willing to give you up to 1024m2 for free for your memorial garden if you have the tier to carry it. Contact me in world and let me know what kind of land you're looking for and how much you need and we can see what I have that might meet your needs.

Respond to various responds by SL members about Police Memorial

Reverend Herzog,

Thank you so much for your offering. I certainly would like to take a look at your parcels and determine what may be best for Police Memorial Garden. Since the wall will be install where SL members can request for RL fallen officers can be put up for all to see, my guess it would have to be somewhere flat. I will be off from college for spring break, I may be around quite a bit during the day ( from Central Time zone in Minnesota, the MIdwest area). I hope we can meet soon.

Brenda,
Thank you. Sometime it's helpful when I hear this from someone who do understand my position and nudge me to go on with my project. What you have said to me, does mean a lot to me more than you will ever know.

Liralen,
Do what you think is the right thing to do. People often ended up hurt when they didn't listen to their instinct in the first place, which in fact, does happen to crime victims in RL. So.. if it doesn't feel right for you to offer support, then don't do it. Go with your gut. Don't stick your neck out for someone. I do completely understand about lacking trust among SL members. I do feel exactly same way but I also realized I have to go on with SL life as long as I have a little bit of moviation in me ( fighting spirit). I am a victim of the " L" itselfs. My Chief and I have lost everything. SO.. Liralen, just do the right thing. :-)

Oh, I didn't mean that I had doubts about supporting you! I'm having doubts about supporting SL period. There's a lot of very ugly things going on in this game, like pedophilia, beastiality, and the Goreans. I can avoid contact with them, of course, but I can't help feeling that I'm helping to support them by simply infusing cash into this game, which I have been doing. I'm also a long time MMORPG/subscription player, and hence used to poor customer service, but SL ranks way up there with the worst.

But thanks much for your advice to trust my instinct, it struck a chord. Although my days in SL are likely limited, I'm willing to share some of my land with you, with the understanding that you might need to bear the tier payments for it if I decide to leave the game.

Give me or Haka Mahana (my husband) a message in game if your other options don't work out.

I'm trying to understand your poll options.
