Invisible new continent...on purpose or bug?

I bug reported not being able to see the new continent on the map. Currently the only way I have to find it is to hit the land sales button and then zoom all the way. Does anyone now if LL has any plans to make this continent visible like the other 3? or do they have a reason for making it invisible?
Also quick question...what does it mean when a plot shows up yellow but no dollar sign tag on it? is it for sale or not?

The map has not completely updated yet with the new sims. Over the next few days it will gets the new sims, just in time to be behind on the next batch.
With the database load, the map is behind what the real world is. Sometimes plots that are for sale will not show up and plots that are sold will still show.

Might it be possible to use a "New Sim - Image Coming Soon" texture while waiting for the aerial shot to appear?

The first part of the New Continent (Wootonia?) is now on the map, with additional newer sims showing in grey when you zoom in.

What does it mean when a plot is yellow but no for-sale $ tag on it on the map?

Here's an idea to test: Maybe the yellow plots are slow to update, so when a parel goes up for sale it shows a yellow parcel and a dollar sign, when it sells, the dollar sign goes away instantly, but the yellow parcel takes a while to switch back to non-yellow.
Another possibility: presence of dollar sign has to do with having a teleport spot set.
Another possibility: presence of dollar sign has to do with parcel being set to a specific avatar.
I suppose one might try to find this in the knowledgebase or using google.

Angel. The system knows the sims exist, just do a search for J-1 and you get a list of the new sims - and when you click on a blank area where one one of the sims is, the sim name and coordinates of your click appear, so to me this means it would be possible for the system to display a placeholder texture while waiting for the next map update. Seems like this could also be used to show a texture for the private islands. I'm sure that someone will provide an explanation to the effect that such a thing would be bad and is physically impossible. l

Is it always J-1, or that just the coordinate of the current new area? Sounds like a very useful way to search though!
