Where do you think the "bottom" will be on the landprices ?

I think it will be slightly above the ultimate low, 5.5-5.9

7 + because people will always ask for more if they can get away with it.

If you are talking average price, probably $5. But if you are talking lowest, I think it will go much lower than $5 a meter. If my friends are not making up stories, in their recent experience on several transactions, it already has.

At this point, the lowest it will go is 4.88 or then land is sold at a loss, unless the Linden dollar value goes bad...

Don't worry, the Linden dollar won't go bad now that L$ are real dollars, but a lot of other things are going to change.

Who cares?

There's cheap land then there's getting what you pay for. ;)

I think the potential is there for a lot of land to be sold at a steep loss in the near future--if the purpose was simply to buy and flip. Unless there is a major population surge in the fall which could drive up prices a little. Not sure that's gonna happen though since SL basically turns to a laggy soup past 48000 concurrent users.

I know LL is trying to drive down prices to encourage premium members to buy land, but they are also going to have to make it a simple process for a brand new member to find that cheap land. How many threads have been in these forums by people asking how to find it and the differences between mainland and estate? It's a snap for most people who post here, but its really not so clear to someone new.

There is no way for us to answer this question without knowing two things: How many sims is LL planning to drop and how often. Hint: Don't use logic or common sense when trying to figure that out.

Since we don't know the answer to either of these 2 questions, i suppose we are just gambling here when dealing with land and SL permits that without providing a guidance. That makes me think that whole SL should be banned since gambling is banned from SL.
