Suddenly I started to hear music, it wasn't coming from the neighbors or the street, it was coming from my computer, it wasn't music that I knew so it wasn't a file on my computer that was played, it wasn't coming from any other media player application, including my browser. It was coming from Second Life, but, the parcel I was on had no media stream set, and, streaming was unchecked in my preferences and even when I checked mute, it was still playing !
I thought that the parcel owner was playing a trick on me, or that someone had sent an invisible drone to follow me and play music.
Where the hell was that music coming from ???
To save many avatars from madness, I decided to share my story and to tell you where that @&!# music was coming from. It's only the third time it happened that I found out that it came from... the web site set in somebody's profile ! Yes ! music from there will load and play even if you don't access the Web tab and do minimize the floater.

There have been tales of certain types of fillings in your teeth being able to receive radio waves.... spooky eh? Now if I could just create a media controller linked through the client directly into your fillings, I could let you changed the station now and again.

I occasionally hear music but only a short phrase. I've put it down to some avatars having sound bytes allocated to gestures?

From: bilbo99 Emu I occasionally hear music but only a short phrase. I've put it down to some avatars having sound bytes allocated to gestures? Not necessarily an avatar. Any object can play short sound clips (I forget what the maximum is... something from 7 to 10 seconds). I personally hate it when people use it for music, not for the repetitiveness, but since I have doppler effect turned on, and it makes the music sound like an old tape that's about to be chewed up
