Where to start?
It seems a bit confusing to new comers like me. I'd like to peruse other's answers to interesting questions regarding making content and provide a helpful answer If I can.
I'm not interested in inane topics, that's what other forums are for.
From the Community page, Overview, All Content, Discussions and Blog all seem to have a Linden name at the end. Do they start and close these "Discussions"? The Sub-Channels only have a post or two, and from months ago.
Maybe some advice is in order from current Blogorum participants. An overview perhaps.

I went here https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/community but I cannot see the Answers section. You must have to find it yourself.

The root of the Blogs, as they stand now, is here: https://blogs.secondlife.com/index.jspaFrom there, only the links to "Second Life Answers" and "Commerce Forums" currently allow those of us in the Great Unwashed to post new threads (discussions or questions). The rest of the Blogs are a Linden-only mouthpiece, where new stuff can only be started by a Linden, with limited ability for others to comment on what they post in some Linden-started threads, if they deign to allow it. Within "Second Life Answers" and "Commerce Forums", each has some nested channels, in some cases several layers deep. There is NO way in the Blogs to stand at any single starting point and see what is new in all areas. You have to manually traverse all channels and sub channels, and look at each one as a seperate area. Myself, I start at the link above, to see what new Linden posts may be worth a look. Then I go into Commerce Forums and from there straight to Merchant's Roundtable, (limited access area), to see what the merchants are up to. Then I come back out one layer and read the commerce forum. If I remember to do so, I have to follow a bookmarked link to the Solution Developer's blogs, another limited access area burried Gods Knows Where, to read and post to the blogs that are just for registered Solution Providers. I do not, as a rule, go anywhere near Second Life Answers, which is a hopeless rat's nest of sub areas and only alows brief replies to simple questions, nor do I go to anywhere else in the Blogs with any frequency. As of mid-week next week, after they close these much more functional REAL Forums, there will be more categories open in the Blogorum to non-Lindens, that are supposed to replace these forums. God only knows what the categories will be, where they will be hidden, or how many layers deep you'll have to dig to look at each one. But I can say with some assurance there will still be absolutely no way to adequately browse any of it. The whole mess will be just as painful to browse as "Second Life Answers" and "Commerce Forums" are right now. The Blogs are just that - Blogs. They never will be and never can be a fully functional forum, because the software simply is NOT written to support a full forum's functions. Yet someone in LL's higher reaches is convinced that they can, and insiats on forcing us to use the wrong software to do the job, no matter how badly it works. Whoever sold them on Jive Clearspace as the be all and end all one-stop solution should get the shady salesman of the decade award, because he certainly pulled the woll over their eyes, and no doubt a fat fee out of their wallets. *sighs*

It's pretty much useless, really. Like the KB (Knowledge Base) was, way back when... we told them that at the time, but despite our feedback LL kept on singing the company song until they suddenly shifted into 'we've always been at war with Eurasia/Eastasia' mode (obligatory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four reference), at which point they dumped the KB and went back to relying on resident help and the SL wiki. Too bad that they've since alienated their resident assistance in that regard. I'm really sorry to say this, Kornscope, but I think you'd be better off with a third party forum... you might consider posting here: http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/new-users/ instead. P.S. - don't mind me, I've just really had it with LL lately. Best of luck

I can't find a good way to use blogs.secondlife.com.
You ever seen things that purport to show how spider's webs are affected by giving caffeine to spiders? They spin a lot of silk but the pattern is screwed up, chaotic, malformed.
That's what blogs.secondlife.com seems like to me.

Kornscope, they haven't yet put up whatever they will provide for resident forums. So check back at the root URL Ceera provided and browse around, sometime after the 9th. Probably there will be a blog post about it. Good luck finding it. Hi Tengu, I was at the office hour you attended today, so I'm also a little disaffected right now.

> codpiece! codpiece! Go to the left, grab knife and sheep. Wait, I notice that you indicated that it is a large codpiece. As opposed to just a codpiece. Interesting, very interesting. *mews*

No fair, Brenda!
Somebody as blind as Mr. Magoo has too much self-respect to guide us down the roads Linden Lab has chosen for us since Mr. M (stands for Malfeasance?) Linden came aboard.

They better come up with something else on Tuesday, that's all I can say. I've been giving the Blogoram a chance, I'm really trying, but it's awful. I know people are saying you need to get used to it, learning curve, yadda yadda, but to me it's like trying to make yourself wear a pair of shoes that obviously doesn't fit. I doesn't fit my needs or preferences at all.
I really am interested in seeinh what The Providers will foist on us. 100 Quatloos says it will be nothing. They will talk of a "plan", what is in "the next software update", "we'll have a discussion on where to have discussions", and the usual lip service. And they will count on people grudgingly accepting the Blogorama and that will be that.

There's no built-in way, but Torley posted a shortcut on his blog that I've been using. It doesn't cover all the bases but you can see almost everything if you use this special link (which you definitely need to bookmark because it's so long): https://blogs.secondlife.com/recent-updates.jspa?community=2055&showDiscussions=true&showDocuments=true&showBlogPosts=true&filterEnabled=true&start=0&numResults=25Watch for line wrap. This not only lists most of the active threads, it also shows which subcategory each is in, which is handy for knowing what to skip. It's become my entry into the blog system. Down side: you get dumped into the last entry, so you need to navigate through the pages manually to find either the start of the thread or the last post you read. But compared to all the clicking and page loading necessary to read the threads any other way, that seems almost minor at this point.

At least there's some advice around and that link above seems ok too. Thanks team.
I find, when looking at some "discussions", they are ten feet long and cripple my PC until it loads. It seems a lot of these newer sites, like SL Blogs, using tons of backend scripting, really slows my "browsing experience". I guess a new machine would help but..... I'm thinking I won't be doing every mornings SL info browse anymore.
