The Lindens now have at least 2 openspaces with significant builds ready to be explored by everyone. I don't know what they intend to do with these, but they look pretty cool. (you've got to make yourself forget that the moon base is in the middle of the ocean).http://slurl.com/secondlife/Mos%20Ainsley/144/145/67http://slurl.com/secondlife/Castle%20Valeria/45/64/25 I've got no real question, just wanted to point out the obvious change of stance by LL as far as openspaces go.

With the advent of class 5 regions and havok4, it's been a real game-changer for openspaces. Before that - yeah, I'd agree it was some pretty rough going on them.

LL never said you can't build on an open space, but that it is intended for light use. Also, keep in mind that the builds and scripts appear to be done by Linden Department of Public Works. We were very impressed with the sim performance when using the cool vehicles. I was able to drive aboard the space base shuttle with the space base buggy and that was pretty awesome!
My point is this...we were just 2 people on the sim and everything there seems well scripted and built. I am not so sure the average SLer would have the same result.
