My buddy has 3 spaces reserved for islands and I decided to get on next to his. He gave me permission, we both submitted trouble tickets explaining permissions and our intentions.

I got a response that says everything is okay but I need permission from the island to the west. I was given the name of the island but not of the person. I tried to tp there to see if I can see an owner on anything on the island but it appears I cannot tp there at all.

I cannot respond to the email that was sent to me by LL. So it appears I am stuck, suggestions please?

Sometimes if you search inworld groups or classifieds (or even google) the island name, you'll learn some interesting things.

If you are planning on connecting to the edge of someone elses island that you don't know there is a 99.999% chance they will say no. Connecting to the edge of an island causes ALL KINDS of hassle they probably don't want to deal with: view clutter, sim slow down, greifing vector etc...

If its a corner connect there is a chance they may allow it. But if they say no, well, expect they will say no and take it in stride. It's a LOT to ask of a private land owner. :)

YES, you are correct, and really - I dont want mine touching theirs like that either.

I contacted LL using the concierge support...spiffy service I must say...and they told me the owners name. I also was able to locate them under groups. Contacted the owners but from it appears, they are not very active in the game and keep to themselves. This could be the reason why I cant tp there.

Lastly, I think the space to their East is vacant but its the spot directly East of that empty space that I purchased and need permission for. There would be a space between but again, I have no idea how much this person(s) are ever online.

Thank you Desmond for the google and search instructions btw. :)

as u want to be next to a friend`s island this isn`t relevant to u but a good thing to consider with new islands

placing ur island with 1 empty sim distance from another island, u`ll be blocking eachother`s expansion without having to move the island to a new location

still so many ppl place their islands next to others without realising this
yes, island can be moved for free when purchasing another 1 but sure adds to the pain when the area has enough space to keep several sims of free distance between them

I did not know an island could be moved when you purchase a new one. That is valuable info that is not listed on the site, that I am aware of.

Thanks!!
