Making a Television work

I recently purchased a nice large screen tv in SL and have it rezzed in my house.
From there I kinda know what to do but I'm sure it would help many to have a detailed account of the steps to make a tv work in SL.

Assuming a multitude of different scenarios, is there a set of standard procedures to make the tv work?

In the land info window I know about setting the media tab with a multimedia url.

I can't get the texture box in the media tab of the land info window to match the tv screen which had the store's logo on it, is that required?

If anyone can be detailed in the steps from purchase to watching it, please reply.

It would also be a GREAT help to list a specific tv feed url or two+ for people to use.

The store that sold you the screen, will have 'matching' players to control your content. Within that player will be a matching texture, that once the player is deeded, will transfer the matching texture to the land media and update the url from your playlist, held usually on a notecard called 'media' or something similar.

As creators and sellers of media systems in SL, we find 99.9% of issues with sold systems is the purchaser dosen't read the instructions that came with the system. There is no 'universal' media texture in SL. We offer a information notecard both within each system we sell and available seperately from a notecard giver.. in addition, we also offer full installation services for our systems, many do not.
