I am really curious if this is being experienced by everyone or not. I cannot simply drop an attachment to work on it. None of my friends or family that have SL accounts can drop attachments either. This is really inconvenient for those of us working on attachments. Is this common?

No, that is not normal behavior. Report it as a bug.

Have done so now, thank you for the response. Strange that of the four people in my household using SL (I have teens and a housemate), *none* of us can drop attachments.

I'll do some checking myself on my lunch break. Since I usually appear in a furry avatar, I wear a fair number of attachments.

Can you 'detach' the attachment, and then drag it from your inventory to the ground, to rez it in-world and work with it? That is my normal procedure.

This *may* be a side-effect of the changes made to combat that last grid attack, but I rather doubt it.

That's the behavior on no-build land. Have you checked the land from which you are each trying it?

If by drop you mean rez onto the ground, you cannot do this in areas where you do not have build persmission. Click World/About Land and look under Objects - is building restricted? You can only rez objects (drop them) in build-able areas.

You can work on any objects in Sandboxes (find them via Seaches).

Yes, I can do that. It is a pain though, since I usually work with attachments while I am on a pose stand. That way, the dropped attachments always get dropped in a known and precise location.

This has nothing to do with last night's fun, since the problem has been going on for quite some time. I just posted about it today because I was unable to do anything constructive in SL again.

And it also does not appear to have anything to do with whether the land is build-enabled, since I own the land and regularly build on it (it's practically all I do in SL).

By Drop I mean to right-click the attachment and select "Drop" from the pie menu, which drops the attachment to a point not far in front of the avatar.

And, as mentioned in my previous post I own the land and have Create Objects enabled. I do not believe that is the problem.

For what it's worth, if I use the libsecondlife proxy with God Mode enabled, I can drop attachments just fine. I did not realize that at first, since I use that less now that SL has less restrictive camera controls built-in. So I am quite confused. I have a workaround that is fairly painless (God Mode), but it's still a little puzzling that I cannot drop an attachment on my own land.

[EDITED to add] Sandboxes? Ugh. Sandboxes are crap. If that was my only building option I would flat-out quit. I will have to try dropping an attachment there just to see, now, but I believe I've tried that before without success.
