trading limits

Im really going off this game, I was considering upgrading my account but not now. I bought a plot of land at 512m and was planning on buying 2 adjacent plots until I ran into Liundens trading limits and have been unable to buy. The owner of the plots id planned on buying has now increased those plots by 1500 lindens each. I would have had them by now if Lindens didnt have such restrictive trading limits. I mean its like being a child.
My house is quite big for a 512 so I pushed it forward a bit because I beleived I was going to buy the adjoining plots (not now im not). The landowner returned my house, I had to push it forward a little because a different simowner who has the plot behind has planted 2 trees right on the boundary which come through my back wall, which ive asked him to move but theyre still there.
On my first day in the new house, somebody, not saying its something to do with the landowner but they speak the same language. Some jerk entered my house and rezzed a car in the bedroom even t5hough id turned off those permissions for other players.
I dont beleive any of this would have happened if Lindens had allowed me a more generous allowance. I mean its my money, I should be able to spend it if i want.
Not now though, im going to sell the land and never venture into landownership again.

Jerks rezzing stuff on your land would never have happened if the Lindens allowed you to spend more money...? I fail to see the logic here... :p

Why don't you do to the trees what was done to your house, autoreturn them if they are indeed on your ground? Why don't you AR the owner of the adjoining parcel for that?

And how the heck did you even buy land when you're not premium...?

Don't blame the Lindens for your own presumptions. Planning before buying is as good in your virtual life as it is in RL.

*ponders* Hmmmm, do you know about tier fees...?

Novis Dyrssen you should look around at some of the land sca... er deals. Why I could buy a 512 for 1L. then rent all them permissions for 1400L. You don't have to be premium for people to fool you into thinking you are buying land. ;)

Well, yeah, I've seen the ads that make you think with a "reservation" for that land you're actually buying it, but in this case it sounds like it was actually bought. Might be off Mainland, though, I heard you don't have to be prem to buy land there. Still leaves you with a tier fee then. ;)

Anjel, buying land in SL can be as exciting, and as frustrating, as doing it in RL.

First, the trading limits thing. Linden sets these limits for new players and new Premium accounts for 30 days, to combat fraud. It's frustrating for the rest of us, but it keeps people from buying land with, say, stolen credit cards. To get around it, simply set up an account with SLExchange, a third party site. Send them money via CC or PayPal, buy Lindens, and transfer them to your SL account at any SLExchange ATM in-world.

Next, the encroachment. Two wrongs don't make a right. You had no right to scoot your house onto your neighbor's land just because the jerk behind you was doing it to you. As the other poster said, return the offending objects if they're on your land, or Abuse Report the dang tree-hugger.

Third, the stranger rezzing cars in your bedroom. AR him, too. And double check your land's permissions...and ownership. If you're on a private island, often the permissions are set to allow anyone in the group to rez objects anywhere in the sim. If you can't change that, you can ban the individual offender.

General advice: Do lots of research before buying land. If it's an island, look into the owner's reputation. Ask the neighbors. Search these forums. Check property lines, prim limits, tier fees, terraforming limits with "About Land". Read the covenant (if any). If it's mainland, check all the land around you as well as your own. Who owns it? How small is it subdivided? If it's got a view or waterfront, can someone block it?

There is a ton of land available. It pays to be patient and wait for the right deal to come along.
