Paying for a premium account via Lindens instead of USD...

Hello there. I have a good friend who's account was frozen thanks to insufficient funds for her premium account. She tried downgrading it, but that didn't seem to work. Since SL seems to not like debit cards either, she's slightly stuck at the moment. I have the money to help her out, but only in $L. If I give her account 14.95 USD worth of $L (About 4000$L) would that amount be automatically deducted from her account and she'd be able to get on?

Thanks in advance.

no, she would need to change the L's from L's to US dollars

LL will not accept lindens in payment.

If your friend can sell lindens on the Lindex, you could give her the lindens, have her sell them on the Lindex, and the proceeds would be added to her USD balance on her account. Be sure to include extra lindens to cover the 3.5% seller's fee.

Before doing that, have her check her trading limits to see if she is allowed to sell on the Lindex. Have her go to this link, check the table "Resident Monthly Limits", look at the "Sell L$" line, and see which category is highlighted in purple.

Ah...so I can give her the $L, and she logs into the SL website, and change it from $L to cash, and perhaps puts it in her paypal? Or is there a way to change it from $L to cash and pay her account right then and there?

EDIT - second post answered my question. Thanks a bunch. ^^

IF you guys have PayPal or something just sell off some Lindens and give her cash through PayPal.

When she sells the lindens, she will have a credit in US dollars in her account. That can be used by LL towards whatever she owes.

which is kind of odd when you think about it because LL has put in literaly dozens of ways to take Lindens Out of the economy (the small lot land auctions, fees for group creation-Listing-uploads and other activities) that its kind of irrelivant that they expect you to pay in cash for an account, Expecialy when they Sell more lindens into the economy than they currently take out (101,332,236 in sinks Vs 159,074,702 in direct L$ Sales) to start with, the only logical explination is that they dont want people to be hard welded to the idea that any fixed ammount of lindens is = 1 USD in order for Sim Developers to have more latitude in the priceing of their sale and rental lots.

If LL were to accept L$ for US$ payments, then it could probably no longer claim that it won't redeem L$ under any circumstance.

They could accept them if they treat it like any kind of sink, but then you're getting your account for free which doesn't work to their advantage.
