Someone gave me a free skin, so I tried it on and do not like it at all. Now I can't get it off or exchange it or anything. I have three skin choices, so I tried exchanging one for another in my inventory, but now it says I am wearing all three. I was looking good .. now I'm looking really ... not so good. Help? The free avatar skin has a brown box around the skin icon. I do not have a choice to detach from myself or delete it, even though it says I am wearing two other skins. How is this possible, and how do I get rid of the ones I don't want to wear?

1st, relog (there is an issue with things saying they are worn when they aren't) 2nd, clear cache (there is a bug with already cached items not coming off) 3rd... curse and burst.

No.. there is not. Don't worry about your look. You are bound to try something hideous eventually. Whether on purpose or not. *smile* Have fun. Wish I could be inworld right now.

I'll suggest looking in the Library section of your inventory, and trying on one of the avatar skins there. There are several 'normal looking' avatars, like City Chic, that if you just drag the skin from that folder onto your avatar, it should replace the skin you're wearing now with the new skin.
Failing that, open the 'appearance' control panel, and look at the 'skin' settings. There will be boxes for the head, the upper body, and the lower body's skin. You can select 'new skin' and it will eliminate any added 'tattoo layers' that may be coloring you oddly, and you can start fresh, just like a new avatar. Adjust the slider values for a complexion you like.
