I'm sending a bunch of people to secondlife.com using the refer-a-friend tag on the URL I publish.

Commission is paid after a couple of months they have been premium members, which is fine.

I'm interested to know, though, how many people each day actually sign up via my link and whether these sign up as premiums or not. This would allow me to tweak marketing on my site to try and get better conversion rates.

I don't see any mention on signups in my account but that could well be because I've had none. Or is this info not displayed until you actually get the commission?

Bumping this one up as it's fairly important...

Another question is how is someone tola about commission received. Is it flagegd up somewhere in My Account? Is an email sent out? Does a LL representative turn up at your house to give you a pat on the back, a smile and a handshake?

I am interested in hearing the answer to this as well.

Does anyone have a clue about this?

This seems to be the most obscure referral program available in the internet.

I have a couple of friends that used this. They were not given any information at all. The only way they knew amything had happened, was when their Linden balance increased. That was back in October 2006. It took almost 2 months after the friend started their premium account before the money was awarded.

If the referred people are meant to be friends, wouldn't it be more efficient to email them? Or would that count as bulk email spam? I can't help feeling the people you are aiming at aren't really friends, since you are placing the link on a website.

I thought they removed this thing a couple of months back it came in the announcment deleting one forum or other because the referal thing actually didn't work or something and no one used it. It was in a blog post you can probably find it if their blog is searchable..

I just remember wrinkling my nose up wondering about it and assumed the button would be gone by now obviously its not.

they have to be trackable and so its either email them the link or stick it on a site assuming that is that this program is still active..

also she didn't use the word friend she used a bunch of people so no they arent friends hehe
