Just the past few days I have noticed black covering one side of my avatar I took all clothes off and even changed skin and shape and it was still there until I changed shoe bases then it went away but it seems like all my shoe bases from sylfies shoes are currupted, and I got over 50 pairs of her shoes and they are useless without the base but what I would like to know is this a bug or what that gets into your inventory?

A "shoe base" must be a texture... a "clothing" shoe as opposed to a prim, I suppose. So it's possible for the underlying texture asset to be corrupted in the database, but if it were, every customer would be similarly affected (because an individual's inventory doesn't get a separate asset for the texture, but rather just references the original instance). Before contacting the creator, though, I'd try a texture rebake at least, and if that doesn't work, clearing cache and relogging.

Nope...next? It is the shoe base cuz when I take it off it corrects itself and I go back to one solid colored skin but I tried all the bases with all 50 shoes and samething.

Dual monitors I suspect.

Known issue.

Run SL on the default monitor.

Dave: What? Sorry, I'm dense. What do you mean by dual monitors? Is Sheena running SL on two monitors?

There's an issue in the JIRA to do with black/multicolour textures on Avatars (and other objects) which started as a Dual Monitor issue (as mentioned by other posters). However, I get this on my Mac as well. Are you running a Mac?

I'll look up the JIRA issue in a minute...

ETA: Here it is:
- Vote for it if it's important to you. The JIRA comments show that it happens on Windows XP and Vista as well...

Thanks for the link, I voted as well. This is a nasty bug, I use OSX too. I get black on prims as well, trees, rocks etc... Clear cache doesn't help, but a quick fix is to zoom in right inside the prim(s) + pan... it fixes it (temporarily). One day I had a buggy skin, I had to remove it - log off + back in twice... I get this problem everyday.

Like on the picture showing:

I suspected the graphics because it's a bit old now, but I didn't have a problem three months ago.
