We’ve posted a very minor viewer update to Second Life 1.17.3 which addresses a viewer crash on startup for certain classes of older hardware. If you’ve been running with 1.17.3, there’s no need to update - there are no functional changes.

i`d stay away as far as u can from 17.3...

Okay…but, what I go to login, it fails and a dialog box says Optional Viewer 1.17.3 (1) and there is only one button…the Close button.

yes i have
in my short life i`ve went form a usable client with some quirks to an unstable client with so many bugs u can start a farm with

with the permissions crap on prims in prims(and scripts) i`ve seen the only thing i like go unusable, so basicly i`m paying for 3/5th island(i own) to be bored, been past my hopefull days, my doubting days and sarcastic days to just say where they stand, wich u can`t deny is the truth

hell, they can`t even be botherd to fix the payment system so they get more money, says enough without mentioning the bugs, 2 months on and paypal payments are still fubar

support sucks, it`s left for the people here to help eachother, so u tell us all where we stand when it comes to client "fixes" and if it shouldn`t be time we all get really grumpy with LL as even this crash fix they screwedup with a bugged version check popup box with just "close"

dare to say i`m wrong heh

They should have fixed First Look.

1.17.3 and before are fine.

But the first look client is a lost situation! Why dont they First Look ( which to me ) ran without problem. First Look needs the fixing.........

The only possible change from "working" is to "not working". Therefore, if the old viewer works for you, don't update it unless you're forced to do so. Stick with 1.17.0 as long as you can.

If the First Look code was stable, it would already be live and not only part of the First Look viewer. It's kinda the purpose of a First Look client to be bug-ridden.

Thats what understood when one beta test any viewer........But I bring this up because I have not seen such bad coding in a client for 3 months. I am shocked they are so far behind in the dev of the First Look Viewer..........
