HELP!!!!! audio voices or text? is it green text spam or white? If its Audio - It could be they are streaming a porno to the land and you have your video enabled. Without seeing the movie prim all you hear is the audio tract of the movie. Disable your streaming vidio and the voices should go away. |

People can also rez objects that generate sound, often for griefing purposes. If you can find the object that's doing it I THINK you can mute the object owner, and that in turn audibly mutes their scripted objects, but I may just be smoking my special blend again.
Each parcel of land has an option to prevent the sound that objects generate from leaking into other parcels, but that has to be adjusted by the owner of the parcel where the object resides. _____________________

The X2 from Xcite! does have sounds available. Look at your HISTORY window and see if someone's genitalia shows up in the drop down list. If so, select it (from the list) and check the mute box. If that does the trick, problem solved. If NOT, then figure out if the voices are taking things seriously. If not, it might be Brenda. Kam _____________________

Actually, Kam's suggestion is the very first thing I'd look at. It was a serious suggestion... On the other hand, it still COULD be Brenda. You just never know.
Silly things aside, this sort of thing really is exceedingly annoying. If you can localize the source to a particular parcel, perhaps you can politely ask your neighbor to head to their About Land dialog, then to the "Media" tab, and kindly suggest that they enable "Restrict spacialized sound to this parcel". Many folks don't realize that the sounds emitted from various prims they play with can travel rather long distances. Checking this option will prevent the .. uh .. private moment .. from being heard by the neighbors. If the place you rent is a single parcel occupied by multiple renters, the above won't be of much help, unfortunately. You'll have to locate the objects and mute them by name. You guys are no HELP!!! I was serious here. LOL Thanks for the laughs though!!!!! |

Go into the view tab under the menu bar of your SL viewer, scroll down to beacons, and select sound sources. You will now be able to see yellow lines (i believe) where sounds are coming from. I hope that helps you find it so you can mute the offending object.

Just yesterday I logged into SL and I heard also strange sounds. I first checked the surrounding parcels, but the sounds (music in my case, not sex-sounds
 ) were limited to my land.I checked in “About Lands” if there were object not belonging to me on my land… and yes, there were. I pressed the “Return objects” button and the music was gone. Maybe this can help you a bit? Morwen. |
