Anyone seeing first land messages they shouldn't see?

I clicked on a buy land option and got a dialog box advising me that it was my first land purchase but the parcel I had clicked on wasn't a first land parcel.
This would be fine if it was my first land purchase but it's not. I don't have any land now but I have had plenty in the past.
Anyone else get this message? Does this message always appear?

There's an oversight where if you go from premium back to basic, and up to premium again, you're once again eligable for first land, this could be a side-effect of that if they're clearing previous land ownership the moment you downgrade back to basic (which I think you said you are?).

Ah, I guess that makes me elibible for first land , but I'd have to switch back to premium.
I'm supposedly still able to buy land without being a premium member since that was the policy in effect when I started. Might make more sense to do the 72 bucks for a year and get the 300 L per w.
Darn, if I'd got to the 4096 parcel for 2.4 L per sm I might have bought it.

I tried to see what it told my alt (used to be premium, back to basic now) but the viewer stutters for a few seconds after clicking buy and then crashes. Good thing I'm not actually looking for land .

From: Kitty Barnett Good thing I'm not actually looking for land . I wasn't actually looking to buy, but with all the complaints about the lack of first land I got o checking just to see if there really wasn't enough to find it without behaving in a compulsive manner or using a program to check it for you, since I'm not usually doing anything worthwhile in SL anyway. So first I'd check the first land, then the mainland to see what the prices were doing as a matter of current events study, check out the land traders and landbot operators at the low priced sites, then the price went down to 7 L per sm which got my appetite whetted. Sigh, I already had a bout with landoholism, I don't need to get that started again.

Hmm, if there is such a bug, allowing one to get first land again after cancelling premium membership, the folks doing the "make money by flipping first land" don't have to get new accounts for each first land parcel they acquire. They would still have to pay any fees required but would not have the burdern of acquiring a continuing supply of accounts. I think. Maybe. If there is such a bug.

I had this happen when I went from Premium to basic, then back to premium again. I tested it a couple of months ago. It will say you can buy first land, but if you try to buy it, it won't let you since you have owned land before. On the other hand, it was fun messing with the vultures(land barons) that staked out all the first land plots available at the time.

You get that message any time you try to buy land and you do not currently own land. It's a display bug only - you don't actually qualify to buy first land, and the system will block attempts to buy genuine Firstland. I have personally tested this.
