Someone mentioned that he was having this problem in conjunction with something else. Just today, I experienced it myself.
Suddenly, I noticed that my avatar was turning her head to look at wherever my mouse cursor was.
I've never noticed this before. Is it a bug, a feature, or some setting that I wasn't aware of?

Its a feature. Avatars always look in the direction of the cursor. It has been that way as long as I have been playing. They also look in the direction of the nearest person speaking (text chat).

OK, thanks. Don't know why I never noticed before.
As long as I have everyone's attention, another dumb noobie question:
Is there any way to Chat while in Mouselook?

Thanks again.
I experimented a bit with the "looking where I'm pointing" feature. It works when my avatar's sitting, but doesn't seem to work when she's standing.
Just as well. When it's engaged, it's like my AV is looking over my shoulder and criticizing every button I push.

It depends on the poses you have in your AO. If the neck is locked in your "idle" poses your head won't turn, but if the sit pose has it unlocked, you'll turn. One other thing is that if you center your camera on another avie, your head will track them instead so if they walk past you, you'll turn your head to follow. If they're doing a dance your head will bob up and down and circle wildly. A good thing avies don't get dizzy .

Is there any way to Chat while in Mouselook? I think just hit enter to chat in mouselook, can't say for sure as I do not use mouselook and am not logged in to test it... or just type and hit enter... again not sure (I just try stuff till I get it right) heh

And I hope they remove this feature, it is something I use often when making pictures of people. They can use their mouse to look in a certain direction.

If you want to look at something alt-lift click on it. If you want to look at the speaker control-backslash will focus you on that person.

Um, yes, that's how you look where you want, move the pointer there! Doesn't matter if sitting or standing, but lying down doesn't work so well... Some animations or poses are poorly made to restrict your head movements. Some freeze you like a statue, but your eyes still follow your pointer. Another trick, if you are taking pics of yourself, alt-clicking on yourself will cause your eyes to look forward.

Thanks, Kitty...of course, it's the AO causing the intermittent behavior.
