What if in the future, we could have the power to control gravity in SL? Wouldn't it be wild to walk into a sim and turn upside down? or side ways? how cool would that be?

I'm thinkling right now of a mainland, where 1/2 the land plots have zero grav, and all the calculations that have to be made, so everything can float, and move properly.
You think you see lag NOW? HA! Multiply that by 1000.
Now imagine all the servers lindens has all trying to keep up wth those mass caculations.
Might as well shut SL down.

Very cool - I would go to a sim with anti gravity.

Then I would like to make or buy a device that makes local gravity for me, that would be fun too.

How about instead of more land on "Planet Linden" you can fly to another "planet" with different physical properties. Now that would be insane, piloting a rocketship to other "Linden Planets"

The idea is not bad, but do you know how it will end up if the lindens put it in SL? - gravity half working - TP broken - inventory broken - friends list broken - IMs broken - log on half broken - huge lag increase Honestly, I absoluteky don't want any new function in SL before a LOOOOOOOONNNNNG time

I actually made a similar jira proposal (MISC-224) to allow 0 gravity in sim settings for simulating space. I also would love to see a couple space sims on the main grid. Go vote for it!!!

Having just finished a full sim sized space station BEGIN SHAMELESS PLUG (Valqui Hyperport) END SHAMELESS PLUG I'd LOVE to be able to shut off gravity. This would be perfect for some sims but I think if they did it they would just have to shut off parts of the physics for an entire sim. Seems to me that would actually decrease load.
I'm thinking an entire region too, not by the parcel.

From: Threshin Barnett /me thinks of what griefers would do with such a tool, and shudders. Thank you, no. I guess if such a feature was implemented, it would be controlled by the landowner. Griefers would not be an issue. Zero gravity would be a nice option, but I don't see it until we get upgraded physics, which should be half past not anytime soon.

ANd what about visiting a planet full of aliens, that would be great. Are there any sims out there with alien RP action already? id be quite surprised if there isnt.
