I have a complicated question about groups, deeding and selling. What I am try to do is place and object in a poster to sell copies of the object (chokers). I understand deeding to the group but in this case how do I set the permissions so the group gets the profits and yet sells only copies. This is making me crazy. I have already set deeded objects for sale that are doing fine, the catch here is that it is in a poster (the object is to small to display. Please any help will be appreciated.

If you're trying to split proceeds, why not use a scripted vendor that does it for you?

You HAVE to use a script to split profits. Just setting an object (not deeding) to a group will make it a group object, but that has nothing to do with sales. Basicly, there are 2 ways to sell an object. Scripted and non-scripted. Setting an object for sale via the object properties, or in your case you're vending the contents of another object (the poster).
What you need is a scripted vendor. Your poster will contain the choker, and a vending script as well. Once the object is paid, they vendor script detects that money has been paid (and a money event is triggered). At that point, some checking is done to see if enough is paid, if not, then money is returned, if it is overpaid, the object is vended to the avatar along with a refund of the difference, and finally, if the proper amount is paid, the object (or objects) are given. Only one person can own an object, so that person will be paid the full amount. The script will then determine what the split is, and pay the difference to the other party (or parties). The UUID key of the other parties is generally stored in a notecard which is read by the script, and after the sale is made and the owner of the object receives the money, the script then calculates the split and pays the other avatars. |

however it can not be made to pay to a group, only to the individual uuid's
not sure if the scripts are limited as to how many to split it with. _____________________

There is a free "split proceeds" script with instructions in my "Free Useful Items" box at my store in Shona. It will allow you to split proceeds with up to 3 people.
If you want more then that you can get get the free Apez vendor system at Apez Sands island or search for Apez in SL search, or go here: http://www.apez.biz/modules.php?name=Shop&op=products The vendor/server system is available free (no mod vendors) but charges you a small percentage < 5% of each purchase for using it. It will allow you to set up vendor groups that will split the proceeds with any number of avatars. I found the Apez system to be so excellent that after trying out the free one I bought the full system last Feb and have never regreted it. There is a learning curve however in setting up the products and vendor system, as there is in any vendor system. This system as the advantage that much of the set up and management of the system is web based so it can be done when you cannot log into SL. _____________________

If you sell a group-owned object, the money goes to whoever takes part in the accounting. If that is your entire group, the whole group will get their calculated share.
