Hey guys, I'm scoping out ideas for a cafe I have an idea to build- since it's going to be pretty small, I wanted to pull out all the stops. I was hoping you guys could link me to areas that use bumpmapping, lightmapping, custom textures, etc. extensively. I want to try and get a feel for what people have done and what is possible.

If anyone has seen an structure that has a painted look, lots of contrast, etc. please link it!

I hope to see some nice places ^_^;

P.S. - Emphasis on contrasty light if you can find it, you gotta love the Final Fantasy effect ;)

I have a gallery I'm starting there as well. Check it out!

Bumpmapping is a little 3D trick that allows subtle details to be displayed without additional polygons (I think), such as, for example, any type of raised or depressed service in a wall, or say you have a bunch of raised dots on your jacket. Bumpmapping allows those bumps to seem 3D while not actually being rendered as a polygon- just it as if they were 3D.

Correct me if I'm wrong ^_^;

One shortcut is to build complex panels in-world, photograph them face-on, and then turn them into a texture in Paint! or if you need transparent bits, Photoshop, and upload back to SL and apply as texture for a single prim surface.

I have to agree. Really cool and resourceful build Squeeze.
