Entering SIM with maxed out prims

Situation: a SIM with no free prims left. What happens when I try to enter it sitting on a jetski or in a helicopter, crossing the SIM border? Will I still be able to enter the SIM, even if that means that the prims for the SIM would go over 15.000? As far as I know it works with attached prims - what about prims I sit on?

Thanks an advance,
Danny

I have just found the fun (and pain!) of vehicle use. For entering a full SIM, 1/2 of the time, if you are LUCKY, they vehicle will be auto-returned and you are forced to re-rez. For a full PARCEL, if you are lucky, it will push you back and break physics on your vehicle :(

If you are not lucky expect to take an endless subterranean voyage which requires a re-log.

Actually, attached prims don't count againts sim or parcel limits. I've tested it before.

If you enter a full sim or parcel with a vehicle, it is the same as entering while wearing 40 prims of hoochie hair. It's counted as the agent.

Get OFF the vehicle, and the vehicle will get returned, as it then counts against the parcel limits. Or in some bad cases, other prims get returned.

No, vehicles are most certainly NOT treated the same as attachments. With Attachments, the Avatar is the root, and cannot be molested by auto-return. With vehicles (and other sat-on objects), the object is the root, and is subject to all kinds of molestation by the simulator, sometimes dragging the avatar(s) seated on it kicking and screaming with it.

What Aminom said is the usual experience range with vehicles and full/no-access parcels.

It SHOULD be treated the way you describe, but unfortunately it is not.

Well, I did a test once in which I rezzed a 270-prim vehicle, consisting of a 250 prim attachment and the rest being the vehicle itself, and drove the ship onto a parcel that was in no way capable of handing even one more prim. The vehicle remeined, just fine. I drove in and out and through at will. But if I disembarked, then parcel return kicked in.

So while operating a vehicle, it is NOT counted against parcel prim limits.

I would call it luck.

When I and other friends have ridden vehicles into full parcels, we have had various things happen, including being unseated from the vehicle, having it cause the land owner's prims to get returned, the vehicle getting returned immediately, nothing happen at all, the vehicle coming unlinked and exploding (with some pieces getting returned and others getting deleted completely). In other words, it has been a crap shoot.

That's because the vehicle that you were using was mostly a "wearble". This seems to be a new trend in vehicles. But for sure you got away with it cuz only 20 prims were counted against you the remaining 250 being an attachment.

Sad fact is that you cant ride a vehicle into, through, over or under a full parcel.

This happened to us recently.

We have object enter enabled to allow sailing. Someone drove in a 200+ prim boat and put us over our limit.

We lost landscaping. Just one set of waves this times because we had a cushion, but I'm concerned. I love living in SL New England because the landscaping is so wonderful; I'd much rather lose a chair than a tree. I hope the Lindens can figure out a way to prioritize what is kept.

Another good thing about SLNE is that all parcel owners are required by the covenant to keep at least 30 prims available on their land so as to allow boating through it.

I've been unseated & crashed entering parcels that aren't anywhere near full too.

First part is right, attached prims don't count. However, vehicles are not attached prims (usually) they are free standing objects that you sit on.

Hence why my preferred mode of transport now is my lovely shire horse named Mr Bill, who is a pelvis attachment and therefore doesn't count.

Good old Mr Bill.

I was under the impression that when going over a prim limit, the last item rezzed was the first item to get returned to its owner. This is not the case???
