I tried recording with Total Recorder while playing SL and couldn't. Is there a way around this?

I believe it would be better to use the "Line in" connector.

how about a lead that connects your earphone jack to your mic one? Hey Lhorentso!! how ya doing ol' buddy? ![]() Ermm ... the thought of joining input to output is anathema to me. I'd suggest opening Windows or whoever's audio mixer, go into 'inputs ', maybe 'advanced' and make sure, I think the wav slider, is enabled. |

Oh dear, you've confused me, now.
In another thread I advocated using the internal mixer as an input source ("What U Hear" on my Audigy 2). And now I'm going to invalidate that by sounding like a total audio noob: what's the difference between using that as your input and using the Wave output as your input? Apart from the fact that the internal mixer will pick up midi sounds as well. In any case, though, I think you're right. On Windows XP: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume Control, then on that panel Options > Properties, then select "Adjust Volume for: Recording", under the 'Show the following volume controls:' take a look at the ones that seem likely, make sure they're selected (heck, select all of the options unless you have a very low desktop resolution) then click 'Ok'. Then click the 'Select' box for one that looks likely. If that doesn't work, rinse and repeat, and try selecting a different one. |
