RAW terrain files on the web

I have several RAW terrain files that I would be glad to share. Rather than email them one by one, I thought I should post them somewhere on the web. The question is, WHERE is the best place?

My basic idea is to post a 3D view, with a link to download the RAW file. I'd love to sell them (really cheap), but SLBoutique is for selling stuff in world, not stuff you download.

I could post them here. But they are big.

I could start a blog, and post them there.

I could post them in one of the internet texture sites, if I knew which one is good for an almost free texture.

Lee, there are a few things you can do. You could create a project in the SL area of Instructables and you CAN make your files available as freebies on SLX or SLB. Some people are selling their island designs on those sites- I don't know how they do it, since RAW and ZIP aren't valid forms of upload, but I wonder whether they just give you a 256x256 texture of the grayscale terrain channel for you to paste into your own RAW file? Or perhaps they email you a notecard with an URL to a secure web site?

Anyway, it IS possible, assuming you've got at least a 16 sq. m. parcel to drop a Magic Box on. (And heck, you can drop a box on my land if you don't have any land of your own.)

You could also set up a free blog and link to your downloadable files from one of the free file sharing sites like Xdrive or File Factory.
